Community and Culture

DOIE Community and Culture serves Retriever students, faculty, and staff and works with all campus constituencies to make sure their voices are heard and reflected in holistic programming efforts. Unifying a diverse array of existing and new positions and offices allows UMBC to send a clear message to current and future Retrievers: At UMBC, you are valued as a whole person.

Center for Social Justice Dialogue (SITE TO COME): The Center for Social Justice Dialogue transforms education by engaging campus community members in developing the knowledge, awareness, and skills necessary to build bridges across difference toward a more loving and just world.

Initiatives for Identity, Inclusion, and Belonging: i3b equips students, staff, and faculty with the awareness, knowledge, skills, and actions to co-create a more inclusive and social justice-oriented campus community.

The Women’s Center: The Women’s Center at UMBC advances gender equity from an intersectional feminist perspective through co-curricular programming, support services, and advocacy for marginalized individuals and communities.
